I haven’t always been an open book.
And that hasn’t always been because of editing.
Sometimes, the narrative's been weak because my vantage point’s been limited. Because the truth around, behind and underneath my circumstances wasn't allowed to surface and be seen. Wasn't given the chance to find its proper name, shape, or weight.
This weekend, I invited others to be Human Books - to open their lives to strangers for the cause of empathy and understanding.
It’s made me think about what makes me tick. About my motives, makeup, aspirations and anxieties.
I’m all about being an open book.
The thing is: Even an open book can only show a couple pages at a time.
